Introduction programme

Newly arrived refugees who need basic qualifications have the right and duty to participate in the Introduction programme.

The introduction programme is for those between the ages of 18 and 55 who:

• Has been granted asylum and thus refugee status
• Is a resettlement refugee
• Have been granted residence on humanitarian grounds following an application for asylum
• Is family reunification to the groups mentioned above
• Is someone who, after brake-ups, has been granted a residence permit on an independent basis due to maltreatment  in relationship

• Close follow-up
• Practical training is Norwegian language and society
• Help to start an education or get into work
• Financial support equivalent to twice the national insurance basic amount.

The duration of the introduction programme depends on your previous educational background. The duration of the programme is descibed in the Integration Act.   Link to Integration Act

The programme is full-time, that is:

• 37,5 hours per week for a program with no preparation or follow-up requirements, or
• 30 hours per week for a program where there are more requirements for self-activity
